Hosted by the Indian Foreign Policy Project, FCF is India's 1st virtual foreign policy fellowship exclusively for high school students.
Over 3 intensive weeks, fellows from Indian high schools will move beyond passive consumption of global events to active engagement with the systems that shape them.
The world is watching India. India needs informed citizens ready to engage thoughtfully with complex global challenges.
Rooted in media literacy, ethical reasoning, and global citizenship, the virtual fellowship delves into the intersections of national interest and global responsibility while unpacking the mechanics of foreign policy-making.
Designed especially for emerging leaders from South Asia, this fellowship aims to foster thoughtful, ethical and informed global citizens who are ready to question, reflect and contribute meaningfully to shaping the future of international relations.

*Often Remain Unanswered
When politicians invoke "national interest," whose interests do they mean?
How does one distinguish between news and propaganda in 30 seconds?
What actually goes on in foreign policy decision-making?
We live in an era where a single tweet influences markets, climate policies shape elections, and foreign policy choices today reshape our future as we live. Most young people remain spectators to these forces.
Learn from the Best. Engage with the Best.

What is FCF?
The First Citizen Fellowship is India's pioneering foreign policy fellowship designed exclusively for high school students. Launched by IFPP, it's a three-week virtual intensive program that transforms curious minds into informed global citizens through critical thinking, media literacy, and hands-on engagement with international affairs. Fellows collaborate with former diplomats, journalists, and policy experts to comprehend global power dynamics and envision India's diplomatic future.
How does the program work?
FCF operates as an interactive learning journey combining expert sessions, case study discussions, and creative workshops. Over eight to ten sessions spanning three weeks, fellows engage with real-world foreign policy challenges through experiential learning rather than traditional lectures. You'll participate in diplomatic negotiations, analyse conflicts, design climate policies, and debate India's strategic choices with guidance from seasoned practitioners.
Who becomes a Fellow?
FCF's fellows from the inaugural cohort will be students in Indian high schools who are exceptionally talented, passionate about global citizenship, and possess the courage to challenge existing systems, the empathy to understand diverse perspectives, and the vision to reimagine India's role on the world stage.
